More than 25,000 guests at the second Construction Site Open Days 2019 at Stuttgart Central Station

Three-day event focusing on citizen information and the construction site experience - direct exchange with experts in high demand

As in the previous year, this year's three construction site open days from January 06 to 08 were well attended and attracted more than 25,000 interested guests to the approximately 600-meter-long construction site around Stuttgart Central Station. "Interest in the rail project remains high," explained Georg Brunnhuber, chairman of the Stuttgart-Ulm rail project association, on the occasion of the event's successful outcome. "The fact that we were able to welcome such a large number of guests to the construction site despite the icy temperatures and snow on the last day is a clear signal that people want this event.

This is also due to the fact that it is only here that there is the possibility of directly exchanging views with the experts on a wide range of topics and having individual aspects of the project explained to us in person. I firmly believe that only with the highest level of transparency and openness, can we maintain and build approval for the project."

The visitor numbers in detail:

  • Friday, 6.1.2017: 7,000 visitors
  • Saturday, 7.1.2017: 10,500 visitors
  • Sunday, 8.1.2017: 8,000 visitors
