The Stuttgart-Ulm e.V. rail project association is inviting visitors to the open construction site days around Stuttgart Central Station starting today.

Until Easter Monday, April 18, 2022, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day, those interested can visit the construction site with the partially already closed roof of the new platform hall.

"We knew that people were interested in S21 and the follow-up projects. But we didn't expect the interest to be so great," says Bernhard Bauer, chairman of the Stuttgart-Ulm rail project association. "With around 15,000 people already on the first day, we are on a record-breaking level. We are pleased about that because we wanted to enable many people to visit the construction site and exchange ideas with the experts."

A wide range of topics was put together for the three days. From insights into the reconstruction measures of the Bonatz Building, to the new platform hall with the striking goblet supports, to the innovations at the S-Bahn and Stuttgart Rosenstein. The youngest visitors have also been catered for: among other things, there will be children's excavators and a children's Easter rally as well as over 20 information points throughout the construction site."

Visitor numbers over all three days from previous years:

2016: 30.000
2017: 25.000
2018: 40.000
2019: 35.000
2020: 64.000
2021: Cancelled due to pandemic
2022 (1/3 days): 15.000
