„From Saturday, May 18 to Whit Monday (May 20), the Stuttgart-Ulm Railway Project Association will be conducting highlight tours to four different Stuttgart 21 construction sites. This marks the tenth anniversary of the construction site tours. „First of all, I would like to thank everyone involved, the approximately 45 guides and the numerous employees of the association as well as those responsible for the construction site, who have made this all possible,“ said Bernhard Bauer, Chairman of the Stuttgart-Ulm Railway Project Association, on the occasion of the anniversary. „The mostly three-hour visit with explanations from the experts and visitor guides, who took each guest to the construction site with a great deal of passion, patience and expertise and shared their knowledge there, gives people a better understanding of the complex interrelationships of the project.“

„Our experience shows that media coverage alone is not enough to fully present the rail project and its many facets.“ Those responsible in the association quickly agreed that it was important to explain the project's context and the specific construction technology to people from experts and on site, Bauer continued. „At the end of the tour, people often say things like ‚I didn't know that before‘ or ‚they're building much more than just a train station‘. Most visitors are enthusiastic about the buildings and the project,“ says Bauer, summing up his experience.

Since April 2014, the association has been offering guided tours of various construction sites between Stuttgart and Ulm. Around 100,000 visitors have taken up this offer. In the past ten years, guided tours have taken place at around 20 different construction sites. Interested guests were informed about the project and the respective construction measures directly on site in over 7,200 tours.

The highlight tour lasts around three hours and covers four different areas: the platform hall, the north tunnel access, the Bonatz building and the hall roof with the light eyes. All places are already fully booked. Anyone who is still interested in a regular construction site tour can find out more about the offer on the homepage: its-project.com or directly under store.its-projekt.de.
